Crete Carrier Wins Walmart Award

Crete Carrier Corporation is proud to announce that it was selected as the 2009 Grocery Dedicated Carrier of the Year by Walmart. Crete is proud to provide dedicated service to Walmart at the North Platte, NE and Ochelata, OK Distributions Centers, which serve approximately 183 stores throughout the Midwest. Across the country Walmart has a total of 25 grocery DC's serving 4,500 stores and Super Centers.

The Walmart grocery business requires special 'tri-temp' trailers that allows us to handle product at three different temperature settings. In the front of the trailer is frozen product such as ice cream, the center and rear compartment contain dairy and deli products along with fresh produce. Of the thousands of loads we delivered, we maintained an amazing on time delivery of 99.96 %!

We have a great team of office staff, shop technicians and drivers in North Platte and Ochelata under the outstanding leadership of Russ Gerlach and Penny Martin. Along with support from Lincoln when business volumes surge around the holidays and when weather creates additional challenges, this group has done an outstanding job serving Walmart.

Walmart is a very important customer to Crete Carrier Corp. and Shaffer Trucking. Walmart is also the largest receiver for many of our other large customers such as Kellogg's, General Mills, Kimberly Clark and Church & Dwight to name a few. Our on-time delivery on all these loads is critical and is essential to our efforts to grow our business.
