Two crete drivers placing in rookie competition
Crete Carrier is proud to announce that two of its drivers placed in the top 5 of the Trucking’s Top Rookie competition. Jackie Rhodes placed 2nd and Damon Frazee placed 5th. Both Jackie and Damon each received $500 in cash and a variety of other prizes. The results were announced Friday, August 26 during the Great American Trucking Show in Dallas. Jackie and Damon’s Fleet Mangers had a few things to share about the recent award:
“Damon is positive, energetic, and completely professional in his bearing, appearance, and communications. I feel very fortunate that Damon chose Crete Carrier as the place to begin his new career and I am honored to have him assigned to my fleet. Damon displays all the qualities we look for in a professional driver and I am very proud that he placed in Trucking’s Top Rookie,” says Jeff Hazelwood, Knoxville Fleet Manager at Crete Carrier Corporation.
“Jackie is hard working and is always willing to go the extra mile and help out where he is needed. He will work on his day off to help ensure on time deliveries and has never had a service failure since joining our fleet. Jackie also leads by example and shows new drivers the ropes, and he always has a positive attitude. I’m very excited for him and his Top Rookie award. I’m very proud of him, and I’m glad Jackie is in our fleet,” says Nicole Keaton, Ochelata Fleet Manager at Crete Carrier Corporation.
The Trucking’s Top Rookie contest was created to highlight the opportunities in the truck driving profession and promote the truck driving career choice during a severe shortage of drivers. Carriers were asked to nominate their top rookie who had graduated from a PTDI certified, or NAPFTDS- or CVTA-member driver training school within the past year and had been employed by their trucking company for less than one year. Nominees were judged on their safety performance, customer service and achievements within their organization.
