Erick Kutter Hired as President of Shaffer Trucking
We are excited to announce that effective immediately, Tim Aschoff will add the role of president of Crete Carrier to his current responsibilities as Chief Operating Officer for Crete Carrier Corporation. Tonn Ostergard will continue on as CEO and chairman.“
“Tim celebrated 15 years with Crete Carrier on April 30th and over that time, he has demonstrated the ability to lead the organization through his excellent communication skills and implementation of process that provide a clear expectation of goals and results. I know that Tim will hold fast to our resolve that on the road to success, “There are no shortcuts®”, said Tonn Ostergard, CEO and Chairman.
“I am honored to take on the role of president of such an exceptional organization. It is a large responsibility, but we have an excellent foundation and a great team of over 6,000 Crete family members to help us continue to grow and serve our customers”, stated Aschoff.
In addition, Crete Carrier has hired Erick Kutter as president of Shaffer Trucking. Kutter was formally president of Knight Refrigerated and brings more than 20 years of proven experience to the team.
“We are excited to have someone with Erick’s depth of experience join our Team”, Ostergard stated. “My goal is to have Shaffer be one of the largest, and certainly the best, temperature-controlled carriers in the industry. Erick’s sole focus will be on working with the Shaffer team to accomplish that goal.”
Kutter and his wife, Erica, are currently working on their relocation from Phoenix to Lincoln, NE. Together, they have four sons. Gabe (22) is a cadet in the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. Seth (19) is a student at Washington University. Caleb (15) and Elijah (10) will be joining the family in their move.

Tonn Ostergard will remain as CEO of Crete Carrier Corporation and has now taken the role of Chairman of the board. This move will allow Tonn to focus on broader industry issues and responsibilities.
