According to a mental health study, ‘feeling blue’ or anxious while you’re away is normal. The study suggests that an increase in these emotions is your body’s way to respond to change. These emotions may go away after you acclimate to the separation from friends and family. Old School With a Twist

As previously mentioned in our emotional health blog post, reading is a great way to unwind and get away from screen time. Reading can also bring you closer to friends and family when you’re away. You can collectively choose a book to read, and then call or video chat about what you’ve been enjoying about the book, what you think is going to happen, and so on. Reading a book together creates depth and spark in somewhat repetitive conversations such as ‘how are you doing,’ ‘how was your day,’ etc.

After a long day of driving, you could play checkers, chess, and many other traditional boards or card games with your friends and family.
