Technological advances in fuel economy, safety features and driver functionality highlight the new Kenworth T680 Next Generation trucks. We’ll be adding a total of 150 of the Next Gen T680s by the end of 2021. Crete Carrier also road-tested one of the trucks, wrapped in a digital camo pattern, and provided feedback to Kenworth before the Next Gen T680s went into full production.
The sleek exterior design features a narrower nose and other innovations to improve aerodynamics, contributing to an up to six percent increase in fuel efficiency. Advanced lighting and signaling systems provide improved safety for drivers and other vehicles on the road.
The Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) include new lane keeping assist technology along with adaptive cruise, lane departure warning, collision mitigation and side object detection. Inside the cab, drivers can easily view gauges and other information on a 15-inch digital display, customized to their preferences. Display controls are incorporated into the smart steering wheel for easy access. The interior also features new finish materials designed to improve driver comfort.
