August is Driver Appreciation Month for Crete Carrier and Shaffer Trucking. We celebrate with Driver Appreciation Lunches at our terminals. Many host more than one event so more drivers can participate. Most trucking companies recognize National Driver Appreciation Week, which usually falls in September. We believe one week isn’t enough.
Crete Carrier Corporation sets high standards for drivers, and we believe we have the best drivers in the industry. We’re grateful for drivers’ commitment to safety on our highways, demonstrated by the incredible numbers of drivers who earn safe driving awards.
We also appreciate the loyalty and dedication of our long-time drivers. We recognize the hundreds of drivers who have been with us more than 20 years through our Haul of Fame, posted monthly on social media. Of course, there are many more with 5, 10, or 15+ years of service working toward that milestone.
Driver Appreciation Month events give the staff and leadership at our terminals an opportunity to say thank you. We understand not all drivers will be able to get to an event, but feel free to contact Tim or Erick if you’re in Lincoln and they’ll be glad to meet you for a cup of coffee.
We also need to mention that Hunt Transportation in Omaha is hosting their Driver Appreciation Week August 21-25. They’ll have a cookout lunch for drivers on August 25.
