Choose a lower weight to begin so you can focus on repetition and form. Prices for weights differ as they can be sold individually or in pairs. Storing the weights can be as easy as placing them under your cab bed. A great option a few of our drivers have recommended are adjustable weight sets. These dumbells can be expensive, but you get a wider range of weights for different exercises, and they adjust as you become stronger. The added benefit is they take up less room in your cab.
Exercise rowers target multiple muscle groups simultaneously such as the arms, back, abdominals, and upper legs. Make each workout vigorous to increase heart rate and burn fat. Rowers can be as simple as using your feet with a resistance rope ($25) to as elaborate as a fold up pull machine ($100-$300). While we have heard from drivers who use the fold up machines, it can be very bulky to carry in your truck. We recommend something more like this.
Yoga mats provide comfortable ground for abdominal workouts, push-ups, and daily stretching. They can be brought and stored nearly everywhere as they roll up into a tight bundle. Prices typically range from $8 to $15 for yoga mats depending on the length, width, or color that you are looking for.
It may be a tight fit in your truck, but riding a bike during breaks provides a few great things. First, bicycles are a great workout. Second, it gives you a mode of transportation to see towns or nature up close. The best part is that these bicycles fold up, which allows for storing in smaller places. Prices for folded bicycles range from $120 to $180 and can be stored inside the cab. By keeping the bicycle inside the cab, it keeps it in good condition and can be easily accessed at any stop.
