How We’re Handling Covid 19

Covid 19 has prompted businesses and organizations across the country to take steps to slow the progress of the virus. At Crete Carrier Corporation the safety of all of our team members, including our drivers, is our highest priority. Here’s what we’re doing to address the situation.

We’re stressing following the CDC’s recommendation, including hygiene practices. Frequent hand washing with soap and water. Covering sneezes and coughs with the inside of an elbow. Avoiding touching the face with unwashed hands. Avoiding close contact with people who are sick.

We’re following CDC guidelines regarding cleaning at our facilities by cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces daily. We’ve also made additional hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes available at our locations.
Here is some reminder information for drivers:

  • Immediately notify your asset manager or the safety department if you feel sick. You’ll receive guidance regarding the next steps to take depending on your situation. The bottom line is that we want you to be safe and get the care you need if you find yourself in that situation.
  • Understand that some shippers and receivers have implemented their own policies to reduce the spread of Covid 19. You may be asked some additional questions by staff at those locations. Many have implemented additional cleaning and sanitation practices. Some have also streamlined their processes to reduce the amount of close contact between drivers and shipper/receiver staff.
  • Many of our customers provide consumer packaged goods including paper products, cleaning supplies and food products which are in high demand. These customers and the public continue to rely on our drivers and support staff to provide the service they need to get these goods to their customers across the nation. Thank you for all you are doing!

Our teams are continually monitoring developments regarding Covid 19and will continue to keep drivers, office and shop employees updated in a timely and transparent manner.

President Trump is working on a plan to provide 14 days paid sick leave to those with COVID-19. We will ensure you are able to bridge the financial gap, whether through additional sick pay or other benefits such as our short term disability benefit you are all provided as a Crete Family member. As the President’s program is finalized, we will provide you details on what that program entails and how we will also assist to fill any gaps.  Thank you and safe travels.
